The Institute is organised into different areas of focus. Primary areas of focus include:

• Organisation of seminars and conferences for the industry

• Development of knowledge base for Logistics, Transport and related industries

• Organising networking and personal development events

• Organising site visits to important Logistics and Transport locations

The Institute is aligned to the objectives of CILT International. It is managed by a Board of Directors and a Board of Trustees, with help and guidance from the members of the Advisory Panel.

Administration of the Institute is handled by the Secretariat, led by the Executive Manager, who reports to the Board of Directors.
