This course provides a general outline of the scope and depth of knowledge that an individual is required to successfully pass the Certified Professional Logistician (CPL) examination leading to certification as a professional logistician. The course is targeted at middle management staff who have the experience in the logistics industry or those applicants preparing for the Certified Professional Logistician (CPL) programme and want to advance their knowledge in logistics and supply chain management. The applicants who qualify for the CPL examination will be eligible for the Logistics Professional Development (LPD) programme. To qualify as a CPL candidate, participant must have relevant working experience in the logistics/supply chain management industry and obtain at least 400 certification points earned through the different criteria. The details on certification points can be found in CPL programme brochure. The certification will have a tenure period of 5 years. The applicants who do not intend to take up CPL examination but intend to sign up for the LPD programme will be considered on a case-by-case basis. The programme covers four subject modules as below- LPD01 Supply Chain Management LPD02 IT and E-Commerce in Logistics LPD03 Business Logistics Management LPD04 Service Operation Management Each subject module covers a specific area of CPL examination. The programme will be conducted on a part-time basis in the evening. Each subject will be held on a three-hourly (6.30 PM - 9.30 PM) weekly basis for six weeks. In all, there will be two evening classes per week for 12 weeks. A comprehensive study material will be provided to all participants. The CPL examination will normally be conducted within 4 weeks from the date of completion of all the four modules, allowing the participants to review on their own before the exam. Teaching Staff The course will be conducted by experienced professors and senior lecturers of logistics, supply chain management and IT/e-commerce from the Nanyang Business School, NTU. The instructors of this programme have taught similar or advanced courses in logistics and supply chain management at the undergraduate, MBA and MSc levels.
